Every year in the spring Millington Troop 56 holds a flower sale. This is our main fund raising event of the year and generates most of the money we use for putting on other events and buying the equipment we need to keep the troop running. The flower sale has become a well known event in Longhill Township and we are pleased to say that it is well attended by the townsfolk and we are very grateful for their patronage.

The troop buys the flowers in bulk each year from a local supplier and sells them as individual trays. We also sell hanging baskets, which are also very popular, potting compost, and birdseed.

The scouts are all expected to take part in the flower sale and sign up for shifts over the weekend. Everyone does at least one or two shifts and some scouts even bring their tents and campout overnight on the Friday and Saturday. This makes the event a lot of fun and very popular with the boys.

This year the Flower sale will be held on the weekend of May 5th and 6th 2007. Please mark this date down in your calendar os one of the most important days in the scouting year..
